The Watertown
Area Transportation Plan was initiated in the fall of 2004 and
the study will continue for approximately one year. The purpose of
the transportation plan is to identify Watertown's existing and future
transportation needs. Throughout the course of the study, transportation
improvements for enhancing travel through the region will be developed.
The study will recommend a set of multimodal transportation recommendations
(including roadway, transit, freight and trail system) that meet
Watertown's anticipated needs for the next 25 years and are consistent
with the community's goals. This list of recommendations will be
cost constrained so that recommended project costs are in-line with
the community's projected financial resources.
